Toucan Update: Firmware Release 0.02.052 & 0.02.067

A new firmware has been released for the Toucan Wireless Video Doorbell (0.02.067) and Toucan Wireless Outdoor Camera (0.02.052 on May 25th, 2021.

What does this firmware include?

Some users are experiencing an issue where the battery of the doorbell or the outdoor camera is draining extremely quickly. The average battery life for Toucan devices can be up to a few weeks to 4 months depending on the amount of motion being detected on your camera. There was a small selection of users who were experiencing a battery drain less than a few weeks with a low amount of motion being detected. This firmware will slow down the battery drain significantly on units experiencing extreme cases of this issue. This firmware should otherwise have no impact on performance of the camera.

How does this affect the average user?

If your camera has not been experiencing a significant battery drain, then you shouldn't notice anything different with your devices. However, you should still update the firmware to make sure your device is up to date.
